This is not the best scene I've done but it has the makings of a great one
And I should say this is RAWRAWRAW writing. This will not be the final version of this scene.

He was standing in a field, grasses moved like a wave. He turned slowly, no one, nothing just him and the grass. And then he saw the distant clouds. North. They are building up in the north. He watched the dark clouds building, slowly at first then at a rapid pace. The wind increased, bringing with it the scent of decay.

"This time will be a tide turner." a woman's voice, not quite aloud, more in his head, echoed. He turned slowly but there was no one there. Just the grass in all direction. Another voice, male perhaps, spoke.

"It is uneven."

Zander felt his heart pounding as he looked back at the clouds. They were getting closer and he could see the lightning withing their dark depths, could feel the rumble of the thunder through the ground itself.

"For now. The game board is still being laid out." The woman sounded as though she were standing beside him. But there was no one. Nothing.

"True."

"It will be close though."

"Very. They are unprepared."

"It will be a good game."

The voices were harder to hear beneath the thunder and the howling wind. Zander stared towards the clouds, eying the dark wall. There was something else to those clouds. Something dangerous.

There was a flash of lightning and he was standing in an ally of Purgatory. A woman, her dark hair in a multitude of long braids, crouched on the cobblestones. She looked up at him, her eyes were yellow with a slash of black. Cat eyes? Reptile eyes. She kept shifting, her body morphing from that of a woman in her prime, to one heavy and then the decrepit form of an old woman, then to something with huge wings, to something with fur. The only constants were the eyes and the braids. On the cobblestones lay a sword and beside it a rose which was larger than his fist.

"One is death, the other destruction. One ends it all, the other renews." The voice was sultry, the voice that every man dreamed belonged to a sexy woman. She held out her hand. "Which will you choose?"

"I don't know." he said. He stared at the sword, the blade curving and widening towards the tip.

The creature cackled. "You don't know, eh?" she pointed a clawed hand at him. "You are a key. Chose wisely, we all benefit, chose unwisely and all perish."

The sudden crack of thunder sent his heart pounding and pain again seeping through his consciousness. The street, the sword and the rose, the woman all faded away except for her eyes, cold hard, reptilian.

"You will have to choose one day, Damien. And the world waits for it."
