I made up for no counts the past couple days by kicking out 3125 words today, tonight actually.
Snip ahead
"Will he die?" Joy asked.
Tagis stared at her long until she shifted uncomfortably and except for an infant crying and the distant rumble of the mountain, there was no sound. "Lets hope not."
He pushed away from the canoe and took a headcount. Standing near the treeline were several people, Mynn included. Over half the tribe.
Tagis approached them, frowning.
"We're not leaving Tagis." One of the women said.
He looked at Mynn whose face was bloody and he looked in shock. Tagis hesitated to ask him if they'd been able to get his children from the rubble. He feared the worst.
"This is our home. What happened to the Fire Clan's cove... that was the other side of the mountain. We're staying."
Tagis did a silent head count, that left those in the canoes just over twently people.
"This is only going to get worse, Mynn." he said.
"You are not the kind of man to try to talk us out of it." Mynn smiled sadly.
Tagis shook his head slowly. No he wouldn't. He should. But he could see the determination in Mynn's eyes, the resolve in the woman's.
They would not leave. And nothing he could say would change that.
this brings my nano count to 19147 words of suck. :)
